Okay, so for those of you MISSED the memo, let me get you up to speed!

I’ve been working on a SLAMMIN’ new Dancehall Soca single called “Ding Ding” (OFFICIAL RELEASE ON WEDNESDAY!), and for this very special song, your boy Mista Vybe managed to bring together some of the most talented people from ALL OVER THE GLOBE for this one special project, which, I have to say, came out AMAZING!

My buddy Jester (AKA “North America’s Most Versatile DJ”) from Toronto, Canada PRODUCED the track. Shout out to Jes for sparking the idea that turned out to be one of the most FUN joints I’ve worked on for a while!

The homie Doc Jones HD added a special bounce to the project as CO-PRODUCER, and laid down some WICKED drums and percussion on the track! Thanks dude! *chest slap*

Shout out to the Torontonian keyboard wizard with the Filipino swag… my homie De La Vega, who blessed us with some ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING on “Ding Ding”. Dude – now you’re officially Dancehall Soca! Gwan bredrin! LMAO!!!

MIXING and MASTERING was done by my musical “brother from another mother” – Madman Johann of Madmen Productions! Thanks for everything YoYo… WICKED job on the final master!

Honestly, all that really needs to be said to add to the footage in this video is that I have been evolving creatively over the last year or so, and this is a huge leap for me in that direction. I’m happy to announce that I’M PRODUCING NOW… well, producing AGAIN, anyway.

Those of you who know about my career BEHIND THE SCENES might recall that I actually produced (and co-produced) quite a few tracks back in the day – mostly Soca stuff. Annnnnnnd… if you checked the credits for my 2010 Soca single “Mad Again” you’ll see that I produced that too, along with Madmen Productions).

Well, as the slogan for my Official Blog (MistaVybeWorld.com) says: “It’s NOT Just Soca!”. Now I’m working on alot more mainstream music… Pop, R&B, Electro, Hip Hop, even a few Jazz-influenced ideas.

Anyway, without further ado, here’s a track I originally wrote and recorded with plans to enter the Darkchild Songwriting & Productions Contest on BlazeTrak… only to end up not being able to enter due to some glitches on the site! (Shout out to the guy from BlazeTrak support who spent most of the last 48 hours before the deadline on the phone trying to help me out lol – guess it just wasn’t meant to be *shrug*).

Oh well, all is not lost, because thanks to the magic of Youtube, you guys can share my first Official R&B Production!

Shout out to Kasey Phillips of Precision Productions out in L.A. for helping me out with some drums and keys, and big shout out to Marlon Roach and Madman Johann of Madmen Productions (in TnT) who recorded/co-arranged my vocals and mixed the track respectively. Extra Special Thanks go out to my manager Joanne Marcano of The Marcano Management Group for believing in me and playing a major role in getting this video done finally lol.

This is how I #GetFamous on my pre-birthday! (Shout out to Famous Club Clothing)

Happy Birthday to MEEE!!! Yes folks it’s my b-day today (July 7th, 2010), and I’m enjoying it to the fullest so far, thanks to a brand new attitude, and some help from my cousin/manager/bff Joanne Marcano aka @FocusedDiva! The birthday celebrations actually started YESTERDAY at Madmen Productions studio, where I had a WICKED session with my homey Madman Johann (wait till you guys hear this SONG – wow!). Read on to see and hear the rest of of my b-day happenings thus far! *wink*

Talk about starting the party early lol! Madman Johann’s production partner Ricky Rameshwar (also well known as the Musical Director of Soca star Destra’s band) came through the session to lay down some keys and suggested we “lash some drinks”, and the next thing I know there’s a case of drinks in the studio!

Just for the record (and because I know some of you are bound to be wondering), half of the case was Stag (that’s a Trini beer for you foreigners lol) and half was Guinness, plus there were two bottles of Shandy Sorrel for Jo (yeah – she sucks lol, Shandy is for teenagers lol).

I’ll fast forward through all the Stag-induced happiness that ensued after this point and jump to midnight on July 7th, which was when Joanne OFFICIALLY started my birthday with some FAB gifts for which i will love her eternally!!!

If you wanna know what was in the those gift wrapped boxes last night and what I’m up to for the rest of my birthday today… you’re gonna have to read the next blog post! Jo and I are hustling off to Maracas to enjoy some bake n’ shark and the sound of the waves (which is one of my favourite ambience noises on earth btw).

Uhmmm… okay, as I’m typing, plans have changed because it’s RAINING CATS AND DOGS here in TnT *sigh* Sooo… no beach today… switching to Plan B lol.

As promised in my “One Step Back, Two Steps Forward” blog post earlier this week, today I’m unveiling my Groovy Soca track for St. Lucia Carnival 2010! How perfect is it that I am LITERALLY on my way to St. Lucia to work on some more new music today? I didn’t plan to make this SLU Carnival 2010 track available for DOWNLOAD (via MistaVybeWorld.com) on the the same day I’m  heading to St. Lucia… but if this isn’t the Universe smiling on me, then I don’t know what is lol.

Anyway, without further ado, I’d like to introduce my brand new release for St. Lucia Carnival 2010 – a sweet Soca tune titled “Wuk It Up 4 Me“! Needless to say it was written by Yours Truly and ALL VOCALS are performed by me as well.

“Wuk It Up 4 Me” was produced and mixed by one of St. Lucia’s most respected producer/musicians, Francis De Lima AKA “Leebo” for Heights Music.

By the way, if the name Leebo rings a bell for any of you Vybe fans, maybe it’s because he (along with my bredrin Courtney “Curty” Lewis) co-produced my duet (“Up, Up And Away”) with SupermanHD/Pringles for SLU Carnival 2009.

Big up to my homey Jester who recorded the vocals at his studio (Jugglin Studios) when I was in Toronto a few months back. Oh – and CONGRATS ON WINNING THE STYLUS AWARD bro!

Also, special shout out to Madman Johann of Madmen Productions, who mastered “Wuk It Up 4 Me” here in TnT.

“MAD AGAIN” ROADMIX PROMO #1 from Mista Vybe on Vimeo.

DJs and Fans alike have been CLAMOURING for a RoadMix ever since “Mad Again” was first released back in December, and I’m happy to say that the time has finally come!

I don’t want to take up too much time blogging because I’m soooooooooo anxious for everyone to enjoy the RoadMix, but I would be remixx if I didn’t big up the AMAZING people that made this CRAZY RoadMix possible in the first place.

The majority of the hard work on this one was done by my lil brother in music – super-talented drummer/producer/arranger/programmer extraodinaire Doc JonesHD. A nativson of St. Kitts and a respected live musician there, Doc Jones is now working out of Toronto, Canada. I was fortunate to be introduced to him and his limitless talent while I was in Toronto back in 2009 handling business. Thanks for the GREAT work on this one Doc! I guarantee you’re gonna have some big trucks BANGING on the road to this for sure!!!

For starters, BIG UP to the Youtube community who – barely twenty four hours after its official release yesterday – have already embraced the “Mad Again” movement! Someone sent me links to two Youtube users (Canchozi and trinisocajunkie) who put up their own home-made “videos” for my new single “Mad Again”!

Check out Canchozi’s ode to “Mad Again” on Youtube – it’s pretty cool. :-)

In breezing through Canchozi’s channel I also found a clip for my tune “The Oil Pan Song” (off Madmen Productions’ Oil Pan Riddim) as well – make sure and check that out too.

The clip trinisocajunkie did is much simpler, just representing the red, white and black (Trinidad’s national flag colours, in case you’re a foreigner), but I still have to give kudos to them for taking the time to pay tribute to my song on Youtube. Check trinisocajunkie’s video clip out too and show them a lil love nah?

In other news: barely a day out of the gate, “Mad Again” is rated the Twenty Fourth Most Played 2010 Soca song (at the time of this post) over at IslandMix.com! Click the screenshot below to see for yourself!

First and foremost, I can’t say enough great things about Madmen Productions and their work on this tune.

Big up Mr. Ricky Bobby himself AKA Ricardo Rameshawar for blessing this track with some amazing keyboards and great music in general. Big shout out to Marlon Roach for co-arranging the vocals with me as well as playing those HYPE live horns. And – last but by no means least – large up my DAWG Madman Johann for doing such an awesome job throughout the production, mixing and mastering – oh and for working with me on the drums, too.
