The collaboration of the two individuals brought forth a CD complilation which not only contains hit after hit of 2009′s best Soca songs, but also includes exclusive remixes of this year’s most prominent tunes featuring additional vocals by Mista Vybe and live drumming by Doc Jones HD.

Since its release, the “Soca Certified Smash” mixtape has been featured on various world-renowned Caribbean entertainment websites within hours of it being issued. The response has been nothing short of overwhelming, as there was absolutely no hesitation to post the mixtape – showing nothing but love and support for this particular project. Welcome to MistaVybeWorld.com: The Newsletter(from Toronto, Canada)

We’re pleased to announce that for the first time, the entire MistaVybeWorld.com Team is in the same country! Mista Vybe has joined the rest of the team in Toronto, Canada for the next few weeks and so far it’s been a blast. He was able to finally put some names to faces, meet some of his Twitter followers and of course, get some work done. Mista Vybe also participated in several meetings and solidified some upcoming projects with many of Toronto’s elite business entrepreneurs. In the next few weeks, Mista Vybe will reveal a new project in collaboration with North America’s Most Versatile DJ, Jester (www.ThisIsJester.com) for another “never before done in the Soca industry” concept.  You can also catch Mista Vybe appearing on some of your favorite radio shows for some interactive talk time in the new few days. He certainly has alot to discuss with all that’s been going on since his arrival in T.O. – read on for details!

Toronto: Week One

For Karneval der Kulturen 2009, Purple Explosion was THE band to play with that day. Not only did they have a sea of people following behind each truck, they also had an international cast of artists and DJs to keep the people in full Carnival spirits. Everyone had the pleasure of enjoying the sounds of (Uncle) Barney Millah, Threeks Sound, Soca Revolution, Soca Twins, and artists like Scrappy, Maximus Dan, Marlon Asher, Jah Melody and of course, Mista Vybe (just to name a few).

In closing, Mista Vybe and the MistaVybeWorld.com Team would like to acknowledge the recent passing of one of Mista Vybe’s longtime colleagues, Katsuko “Koko” Yanagimoto. Mista Vybe has dedicated a blog post in her memory to say his personal goodbye. Koko worked closely with the popular Japanese Dancehall/Soca sound system Hemo + Moofire and dedicated her life (on and offline) to promoting all things Caribbean, particularly Soca and Trini culture. Her contribution will be missed. RIP “Koko” – we continue to Celebrate your Life.

In a recent post on Caribbean Public Relations, blogger Karel Mc Intosh discussed the use of Twitter, and explored who uses it for what reasons.  Inlcuded in the article was a Top 40 list created by her, giving an overview of Caribbean Celebrities on Twitter, ranked by followers. Listed within the elite Top 25, Mista Vybe was up against not only his Soca music colleagues, but also Reggae artistes and various Caribbean icons, ranging from comedians to beauty queens and even some of the Region’s top athletes.

This newest online accolade is not to be taken lightly, as it puts Mista Vybe in the same digital league as several household names, including World-Record-breaking Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, Trinidad’s beloved former Miss Universe Wendy Fitzwilliam, Vincentian Pop/Soca crooner Kevin Lyttle (singer of the Billboard-Chart topping song “Turn Me On”) and Bajan Pop superstar Rihanna.

Accomplishments like this one are why Mista Vybe continues to be referred to by bloggers worldwide and numerous digital media afficionados in the Caribbean as a “2.0″ artist.
