After bubbling amidst the Trinidad Carnival Soca hits of 2K11 and going on to make great strides by getting major love on Jamaican radio stations like ZIP-FM (big up ZJ Sparks), Mista Vybe’s genre-bending 2011 solo single “Ding Ding” continues to break barriers by being put into high rotation at V20 Radio (an internet radio station based in Beverly Hills, USA)!
In addition to the song itself being one very few Caribbean singles spotlighted on V20 Radio, Mista Vybe was also pleased to be the subject of an in-depth interview on the station’s website.
Underlining the exceptional nature of this feat, Mista Vybe pointed out: “It’s not every day I do an interview somewhere where the interviewer is simultaneously featuring international stars like Lil Mo and David Banner, and for that I’m truly thankful. It’s so great to have my work recognised outside of the Caribbean diaspora, which has long been the traditional stronghold for Soca, Reggae and Caribbean music. I consider this a major achievement in my solo career as an artist.”
In the interview Mista Vybe not only talks about his single “Ding Ding” but also gives a wealth of information about himself and his musical journey up to this point.
Mista Vybe sees this acknowledgement from V20 Radio as “a step in the right direction”, noting that he plans to “keep focusing on doing more music with international hit potential” and said in conclusion “the World is bigger than a few islands and a few scattered Caribbean underground ‘scenes’ and this nod from V20 Radio definitely proves that”.
In closing Mista Vybe explained: “I would like to thank everyone at V20 Radio for exposing me to so many people who most likely would never discovered ‘Ding Ding’ or myself otherwise. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
Now that 2012 is in full swing, every day that passes brings us closer to the highly anticpated 2K12 Trinidad Carnival Celebrations. While many songs are destined to be hits that only apply to hardcore Soca lovers, only a handful of rare releases show signs of appealing to an even larger international audience. One such song is the Electro Pop-tinged “Roboman Say” by RoboMan ft. Cherise Ransome, which happens to have been co-written by our very own Mista Vybe! Several industry tastemakers have luaded the songs international potential, the latest of which is IslandMix.com’s own resident diva, Vivaa, who is quoted as saying: “THIS SONG NEEDS A VIDEO AND TO BE THROWN ON MTV ASAP!!!”

And of course, take a listen to “RoboMan Say” via Youtube to enjoy the sweet sounds of the Future of Soca music.
Mista Vybe and the MistaVybeWorld.com Team would like to take this opportunity to wish Vivaa, Julian’s Promos and the whole IslandMix.com crew a Happy New Year and we thank you all for your continued support of all things Mista Vybe!
Hosted by well-known Islandmix.com diva Vivaa, the clip features interviews with several members of Machel Montano’s HD Band, including “Slow Wine” singer Patrice Roberts, who shouts out producer Kasey Phillips and songwriter Mista Vybe, adding “I love this song – it’s close to my heart.”
Just FYI, Patrice’s interview is only one minute and thirty seconds (1:30) into the video, while the song itself (“Slow Wine”) is featured at the eleven minute, five second (11:05) mark.
Mista Vybe and the entire MistaVybeWorld.com Team send out special thanks to Julian’s Promos, Vivaa and Islandmix.com for featuring “Slow Wine” so prominently in their video, and of course thanks to Patrice Roberts for continuing to blaze a trail toward a successful Trinidad Carnival 2012 with the sizzling new Vybe-penned song.
For those who may not know (and you’re really sleeping on your UK music biz info if you are), CHOICE FM’s Martin Jay is one of the UK’s best known proponents of Soca and Caribbean Music. According to the notes on his Soundcloud page, Martin Jay’s “Top Ten Sizzlers” list is compiled every fortnight, “based purely on tracks that he is feeling at the moment”.
When asked about the song making Martin Jay’s Top Ten list, Mista Vybe said: “It’s an honour to have a UK powerhouse like Martin Jay endorse the song – it says alot about the quality of the work – especially since this only the second week after its release, so I’m very thankful.”
Check out Martin Jay’s full Top Ten Sizzler’s List below to see which other nine Soca smashes “Slow Wine” is ranked with.
Mista Vybe and the MistaVybeWorld.com Team say a heartfelt “Thank You” to Martin Jay for highlighting “Slow Wine”, and, of course, a big shout out to the talented Patrice Roberts, whose golden voice continues to propel the single to amazing new heights daily.
Special Thanks go out to “Slow Wine” producer Kasey Phillips of Precision Productions as well! FYI, Mista Vybe has collaborated on creating other hits like SuperJigga TC’s “Thundah Wine” and “RoboMan Say” by RoboMan Ft. Cherise Ransome with Precision Productions. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO.

Mista Vybe (and the MistaVybeWorld.com Team) would like to congratulate the talented Patrice Roberts on the success of their first collaboration together.
Mista Vybe also added: ” I want to personally thank all the fans who have been supporting ‘Slow Wine’ since its debut, and particularly the Soca community in Toronto for pushing the song to Number One in its first week! Special shout out to Jef and the whole Toronto-Lime team as well – thanks for your continued support.
