ABOUT ME copy

Welcome to My World!

MistaVybeWorld.com is literally a piece of me. Every detail has been painstakingly crafted to allow me to fully share Myself and My Music with all my friends and fans all over the world.

Everything you see and hear within MistaVybeWorld.com comes directly from ME, or is important information relating to myself and/or my Art that was reposted for you to enjoy.

In case you want to know more about who Mista Vybe is…

I’m an emerging recording artist, songwriter, producer, all-around musician, entrepreneur and pioneer, born and raised in the twin-island Republic of Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean, who has been striving to take the music of my island and my region to higher heights for my adult life. I have had many solo hits, as well as several collaborations, and I have also written and produced many popular songs for other artists.

People always ask about my name…

“Mista Vybe” stems from an acronym I came up with early in my career. “V.Y.B.E.”, stands for what I essentially am: a “Versatile Young Black Entertainer”. The prefix “Mista” came about when one of my producers accidentally wrote my studio nickname on the cover of one of my singles. The song (“Ting 4 D Road”) became and overnight smash and in the process, V.Y.B.E. was re-born – as Mista Vybe

If you love Caribbean Music or just good music in general, you probably know my work…

Most Caribbean Music fans will be familiar my smash Soca single “Ting 4 D Road”.

French-Caribbean music lovers will remember my Reggae/Dancehall/Pop duet “Joe Le Taxi” (with Sharlene Boodram) which was Number One in French Guyana, Martinique, Guadeloupe and various other islands for an entire summer some years back.

I’ve also written (and/or co-written) major hits for many other artists like Nadia Batson’s “My Posse”, “Party” by Ms. Alysha Featuring FayAnn Lyons and Denise Belfon’s UK Pop/Club hit “Work”.

I’ve been blessed with the privilege of working with and/or being tutored in the ways of the Music Business by household names like…

Raphael Saadiq (and the rest of his former group Tony Tone Tone), Teddy Riley, Guy, Blackstreet, Steelie & Clevie, DJ Ali Shaheed Mohammed (of A Tribe Called Quest fame) and P. Diddy, among others.

Locally and regionally I’ve literally worked with almost every major name in the business. From Calypso Icons like The Mighty Sparrow, Shadow and David Rudder… to Dancehall/Reggae superstars like Buju Banton, Beres Hammond and Super Cat… and even some of my fellow young Soca sensations like Machel Montano to Shurwayne Winchester to Bunji Garlin to Buju Band… I have opened for, sung backup for, or performed onstage alongside the Best of the Best.
