Seasons Greetings everyone! I’m tempted to tease all you foreigners out there by mentioning that I’m currently in warm Trinidad, munching my first official piece of black cake (fruit cake for the non-Trinis) and sipping on a cool glass of sorrel… but that would be cruel, right?

Nah – the truth is, I’m really just writing this to send out a special Christmas wish to all of you out there, as my special little Yuletide gift for everyone.

As much as we ALL love the fun stuff (exchanging gifts, enjoying our favourite holiday dishes, liming with family and friends, partying, etc), I feel honour-bound to remind you all to HAVE LOTS OF FUN – ENJOY YOURSELF TO THE FULLEST by all means, BUT do so RESPONSIBLY. Let’s have a SAFE, happy and holy Christmas.. or Hannukkah, or Kwanzaa… or whatever you happen to be celebrating this Holiday Season.

All my love, appreciation and best wishes go out to you at this joyous time. Make the most of it – savour every moment – because life is short.

Me? I’ll be listening to the sweet strains of my family’s new favourite Christmas album, “Ma$tamind Productions presents: A Caribbean Soul Christmas” (featuring MY rendition of “Little Drummer Boy”), while munching on my black cake (thanks Cousin Aileen!), sipping on my sorrel and enjoying the heavenly smell of my Mom’s homemade bread wafting through the house, while … Ahhhhhhh – now DAT is a real Trini Christmas (for me anyway)!
