ST. LUCIA – IT’S YOUR OUTSIDE SON!

Current mood:  Rejuvenated

Greetings everyone, it’s the one and only Mista Vybe here. Yuh done know!

First and foremost thanks to everybody that has been messaging, sending friend requests, and generally supporting my MySpace page… you guys really keep me going and keep me focused. Thanks for the love!

I have been delinquent in blogging, especially with so much going on – I need to be sharing it with those who support me, and after my recent experience in St. Lucia, I decided I HAVE to start posting here so people will know what’s up.

I have to start off by saying a HUGE thank you to all the fans in St. Lucia who showed me SO much love every day I was there. I originally was supposed to go just for my two shows over the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) but the love in St. Lucia and beauty of the country overwhelmed me so much that I ended up staying almost a whole week!

A big thanks to the Kayo, Jamal and the rest of the crew who brought me across for the NG Soca Stage launch Saturday at Spinners. It was a blast! On behalf of both me and my sister Ms. Alysha who performed with me that night: “Thanks and we love you guys!”

An extra special thanks to my St. Lucian “brother”, Ninja Dan. That’s the guy that gave me the idea for “Ting 4 D Road” – and also a good friend who took care of me and made sure I was happy, comfortable and had a LOT of fun! In addition Ninja happens to be one of the top Soca & Reggae artists in St. Lucia for the last few years in his own right.

Look out for a tune with myself and Ninja Dan in a combination, coming soon…. somebody say FIRE!

Also thanks to Amala, Mr. Francis and the crew that organised the official Launch of Carnival in St. Lucia, at which I performed on Sunday evening at Pigeon Island along with all the top Lucian Soca stars as well as Mr. DJ out of Barbados, Baby Killa (bless up bredrin!) out of Grenada and one of my all time Soca inspirations Edwin Yearwood of Barbados (a pleasure meeting you Boss!).

To all the other artists, bands, producers, DJs etc, that showed me so much love and respect over there: Extreme Band (it was great performing with you guys!), Spectacle band (Shesh and the whole crew), Nicole “Nikki” David (you’re a true Queen darlin’ – we need to work on dat tune together), Penn (all this would not have been possible without you my friend), Alpha (my bredrin since Costa Rica lol), Curty (you’re a big producer now boy!), Ace (Mister Cool LOL), Q-Pid (baby come wet me!), Kakle, Jessica (I still waiting on you LOL), Wezon band (respect fellas), Sir Lancelot, Mr. Pringles (the Energy God Of Radio)… the list is so long, but thanks to everyone even if I can’t recall your name right now.

Look out for a collabaration between myself and my fellow Big Artiste Crew member Nadia Batson on the popular Piton Riddim, and a few other suprises for the St. Lucia carnival season.

Special mention to Leebo – a great producer who I had a chance to work with and plan to do much more tunes with in the future. Look out for the remix of  “Woof” (AKA “Push Dem”) by Reptile featuring Mista Vybe! Listen to how fast the lyrics are in MY verse LOL! Coming soon!

I have grown to love St. Lucia so much… ever since the first time I went there it never felt like being “in foreign” – more like a second home. So as far as I’m concerned I’m St. Lucia’s outside child! LOL

Oh and for all the fans there – Mista Vybe will be back for the OECS Soca Monarch to compete by special invitation. Somebody say “Ting 4 D Road”!

Thanks and again and much love to everyone in my second home – St. Lucia…

Blessed Love!
